Step 01

Connect your AI

Zap is an MCP connector — add it to Claude or ChatGPT once, and your AI gains the Zap tools.

  1. Open claude.ai → Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Zap, paste the URL below, and save.
  4. In a new chat, enable Zap from the tools menu.

  2. Choose Add connector / MCP server.
  3. Name it Zap, paste the URL below, and save.
  4. Start a new chat with the Zap connector enabled.

Teach it the one rule

Out of the box your AI will refuse to trade — it doesn't know Zap is draft-only. Paste this once (Claude: save it as a Skill or in your profile instructions; ChatGPT: add it to Custom Instructions), or start any chat with it:

Activation prompt

I have the Zap MCP connector installed. Zap is a set of MCP tools that lets you help me manage my brokerage account. It cannot spend my money — it only drafts orders on my behalf. Drafted orders are never submitted from this chat; the only way an order reaches the market is if I manually approve it in the Zap app. When I ask you to buy or sell, draft the order with Zap for my review.

Step 02

Link your Dhan account

Approved orders execute on your own Dhan account. Pick either credential flow — both live in the app's Broker tab.

  1. Log in at web.dhan.co and open My Profile.
  2. Go to DhanHQ Trading APIs and generate an Access Token.
  3. Copy the token and note your Client ID (same profile page).
  4. In Zap → Broker tab → Access token, paste both and tap Connect.

Tokens expire periodically — if Zap says the session expired, generate a fresh one and reconnect.

  1. In DhanHQ Trading APIs, create an API key + secret.
  2. In Zap → Broker tab → API key, enter the key, secret, and your Client ID.
  3. Zap opens Dhan's consent login — approve it there.
  4. Back in Zap, the connection completes automatically.

Step 03

Install & approve

Zap is an installable web app — keep it on your Home Screen so drafts are one tap away.

  1. Open the Zap app in Safari.
  2. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen → Add.
  3. Open Zap from your Home Screen and log in with your email one-time code.
  1. Open the Zap app in Chrome.
  2. Use the Install app prompt (or ⋮ menu → Add to Home screen).
  3. Open Zap and log in with your email one-time code.

You're all set

Ask your AI to draft a trade, then open Zap — it's waiting in Orders. Swipe right to approve. Nothing moves without you.
